Sorry I haven't updated sooner. I have been under the weather so to speak with a summer cold. It just keeps hanging on. I am starting to get more energy back though.
Life is good though. The Lord is teaching me a lot lately about contentment. So often we hear about our friends or acquaintance lives and their great vacations, or visit someone for the first time in their home and are greatly impressed with what they have. All of a sudden we start letting our thoughts run our lives and we feel like we have been slighted. Our house isn't good enough, or our vacation was so exciting after all. I began to realize how detrimental those thoughts are. A. W. Tozer said, you must bring your thoughts under control;"...if not they will turn your mind into a wilderness where every foul beast will freely roam and weeds will overtake your garden." Don't let weeds over take your garden today. Keep your eyes focused on the one who gives all things. As 1 Timothy 6:6-8 says But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
Take some time today to make a list of all the good things in your life and think on it and thank the Lord for giving them to you.
Have a great day.
God Bless till next time.

Aug. 6
I hope you are enjoying catching up with our family. It is taking some time but we are getting all settled in. Steve has started back to school and tomorrow will be the first day the kids arrive. He is a little nervous about it. I think once he gets going he'll do fine.
So we are back to being 3 dogs, two cats, and two rats. Life is fun.
We had a really big storm tonight. The picture on the right is of the sky after the storm. It wasn't a fire. The rain was very much needed. We had planted several plants in our backyard including Lilacs, Russian Sage, and Rose of Sharon, (a very pretty pink flowering plant) and they really needed it. Of course we always see a rainbow at the end of the storm.
Have a great week. Oh I forgot to include a copy of Elisabeth's cake which Rebekah made for her sister's wedding. Not only was it beautiful, but it tasted great too!!
A couple of weeks ago we found a little kitten behind our house at a constructions sight. No one claimed her so we listed her on Craigslist and she found a new home tonight.

Eric is looking forward to starting his new job. He will start on Monday. It will be part-time to start with then in about a month or so he will go full-time. That will be a big help as he has bought Rebekah's car and needs to start paying her.
