I"m back

Sorry it has taken so long to write. I have been very bad about keeping up. I have lots of pictures to share, but don't have them downloaded yet. Will add them later.
Summer has finally arrived in Colorado. We had a short but lovely Springs. Easter morning we woke up to an inch of snow on the ground and snowing heavily. We still had a nice church service and a ham dinner later. Just five of us for dinner.
On Memorial weekend Elisabeth and family came up. It was so good to see them. Matthew was a joy. He was smiling at everyone and rolling all around. He now has 4 teeth and two more coming. He has just started crawling. Elisabeth received very sad news this week. She lost her baby at 16 weeks. She has to go in tomorrow for the "procedure" as the baby died in utro. Please keep her in your prayers.
Steve is now on summer break. It is nice having him home, except that we eat out way too much.
We are in California for a couple of weeks on vacation. It is nice being back at the beach. The kids are all well. Eric got his GED and scored very high on the test. We were very proud of him. Jen is teaching summer school and leaves for Germany and Hungry in three weeks. She is really looking forward to the trip. Rebekah is still the lead trainer at Petsmart and loves her job. So that somewhat catches us up. Take care and I will try to do better with writing.
God Bless till next time.

Happy Easter

Blessed Good Friday to each of you. It is a somewhat cloudy day here in Colo. but at least it isn't snowing. Last weekend we had winds gusting at over 50mph. and snow. It was quite a weekend. This week it has started to warm up. Now we just are in need of rain. My tulips are starting to come up and look lovely. The hythinsia's are finished for this year. Steve was disappointed that they lasted such a short time. Oh well they will only get bigger each year.
Over Spring break we went to Lancaster, PA to visit mom and Ken. It was a lovely time. We flew in on Sat. night after a five hour delay, then our luggage didn't make it. We arrived at Mom's at 2:30 AM. Needless to say we didn't make it to church. I'm sorry I can't post some of the fantastic pictures we had taken as they were all accidentally deleted. Don't ask how, lets just say that Steve was in the doghouse for a while. Anyway, on Tues. we all drove up to Tina and Dikke's new place at the Cape. We had never been their and found it a great place to visit. It was very cold the first evening and day we were there, but a beautiful sunset followed with fresh caught and cooked flounder. Thank you Tina and Dikke for all the great food. They showed us all over the Cape, and we even got to see the Right dolphins. Very rare as they are very endangered. On Thurs night we had fresh caught lobster. Our first time eating a whole lobster. It was wonderful. Can't wait to have it again. My new favorite food.

Elisabeth and family are coming up for Easter on Fri. Can't wait to get my hands on Matthew. He just keeps on growing. The rest of the family is doing well.
I have started a new business. I am now a consultant with Just Jewelry. Please check out their web sight and look at all the pretties. If you would like to host a catalogue party or purchase anything just let me know and I would be happy to help you.
Take care and have a Blessed Easter!!

HE Did IT!!

Yes, family and friends, Eric took his GED and is now a High School graduate. Needless to say we are very happy and celebrated with dinner at one of our favorite Seafood places Joe's Crab Shack. Being in Colo Spgs. the seafood choices aren't to great but this is a good one.
We are also very proud that not only did he pass but he scored in the top 10 percent of all graduating seniors nationwide. What a wonderful accomplishment. Way to go Eric. We love you!!

Welcome to early Spring

It’s been a great two weeks. I feel like I am finally getting over the mono. Still get a little tired, but overall doing well. Sunday a week ago, Rebekah’s boyfriend Rick came down for the day. We went to church (9 AM), then early lunch at Wendys then off to the Cheyenne Mnt. Zoo, our new favorite place to go. It was a lovely day and we had a great time seeing the animals who were fairly active and some wild (not part of the Zoo) animals that seemed to like seeing the other animals: like mule deer’s, my favorite and wild turkeys. The turkeys really seemed to like the Moose as that’s where we saw the majority of them.

After a couple of hours we left Rick and Rebekah and headed home. I put a turkey breast on to cook and took a rest, then had a nice dinner with the family. Of course after dinner we had to go watch Amazing Race, one of our favorite shows.
We woke up to some really cold weather and the trees were covered with ice. It was also very foggy. By mid-afternoon, it all cleared away and was a nice day. Since then we have had very warm weather for this time of the year. It has been a very mild winter. My bulbs are all starting to come up. March is usually the snowiest time of the year but it is starting like a lamb rather then roaring in like the lion. Sorry East coast. Hopefully I won’t lose all the pretty flowers. We just put them in last fall, so they are small looking, but should be very pretty.
This past week has been nice. On wed. I had two friends over for movie day. We watched Nights in Rodanthe. What a great movie. The girls loved it and it was a two tissue day. We then finished with a Chinese lunch I cooked. It was a fun day. In two weeks we will go to one of their houses and watch August Rush, another great movie.
This past Sat. Steve and I discovered a new (11/2yr old) state park down by the base where he teaches. We took a mile and a half hike. Saw some mule deer’s, and birds. No real wild animals like bears, still sleeping, bobcats, that had been sighted on this trail two days before or mnt. loins. It was a great park. We definitely want to go again. They have 20 miles of trails, and it is at the base of Cheyenne Mnt. where the air force space command is. It is built inside the mountain. You use to be able to visit it but not anymore. During Sept. 11th, Mrs. Bush was brought there. Her plane was the only plane allowed to land in Colo. Spgs. that day. In the back of some of the pictures you can see the Mnt. Overall it was a good weekend.

On Sat. Elisabeth will celebrate her 30th birthday. Congratulations and Happy Birthday dear girl. Her boys are doing great.
Matthew got two new teeth on the bottom. Hopefully he will start feeling better now.

Have a blessed week!! The Wright's

Happy Valentines Day and President's day!!

It has been a great week. On Tues. I had the ladies from my Bible studies over for brunch. It was a really nice time getting to know one another. Then Jen flew in from Calif. on Thurs. night for the long weekend. Of course it started to snow just when Steve left for Denver to pick her up. Thurs. and Fri. was Parent teacher meetings for him, so he had to work till 7:30PM. It only took him an hour to get to the airport but it took two and a half to get home. They arrived after midnight. It is good to have Jen here though. She spent Fri. shopping and cooking for us. She made tacolasagna for dinner and homemade sweet rolls for Sat morning. Sat. night I made my Valentines a special dinner. Steve surprised me with a beautiful Ruby necklace. He is such a sweetie. Jen made some great choc. Brownies. Then it was time for a round of Uno. Rebekah had a hot date with Rick her "friend". He sent a beautiful bouquet of flowers earlier in the day then took her out for a nice dinner and movie. He also brought her a box/heart of chocolates, a stuffed penguin and a star that she can pick out of the sky and name. It will be her personal star in the heavens. Not bad. Rick is a really nice guy.
On Sun. it was off to church for the early service, then off to Fargo's for pizza. After a good nap it was time for tea and a round of Hand and Foot. Then Eric, Jen and Bekah went to the movies and Steve and I cuddled up to watch a new season of Amazing Race. Tomorrow Jen leaves after a trip to the Outlets in Castle Rock, and I will start playing Bunco with the girls again. Looking forward to it. Have a great week. God Bless

Christmas Holiday Doings 2008

I am finally back. We had a really nice Christmas. On Sun. Dec. 21 Jen and her friend Jessica arrived at Denver Intl. They didn't get in till near 9PM. We got home and spent a little time with them then off to bed. On Mon. the girls took off and went to Garden of The Gods. A beautiful spot. A must see when visiting Colo. Springs. They took a long walk/hike. On Tues. they met a friend at the Outlets in Castle Rock about 45 mins. away. They had fun shopping and on the way home it started to snow to their delight. Nothing like snow at Christmas. I spent time finishing up baking and resting. On Wed. we spent the day cooking. Jen made homemade from scratch cinnamon rolls. Her friend Jess made chicken enchiladas. I got to sit and watch, though I did a little cooking myself to prepare for the big day. Late that afternoon we went to the first of two (yes) two Christmas Eve services. Our church Rocky Mnt. Calvary had four services so we went to the first one at 3:30. After that we went to the Cowboy Church at the Flying W Ranch on the West side of town. It was a beautiful evening, very cold, and the sun was just setting over Pikes Peak. At the entrance to the ranch their just happened to be a herd of deer. How fitting for Christmas Eve. The service was very different from the one we had just been to but very beautiful and meaning. The cowboys were very friendly and we were made to feel very welcomed. We are going to try their Sunday morning service some week.

When we got home we enjoyed the enchiladas and of course had to have some cinnamon rolls. Then it was clean up time and time to relax and think about all the Lord had done for us. Christmas morning was very relaxing. Most of us didn't get up till after nine, and the kids wanted to eat first, so we ate and sat around the table talking, then they wanted to get their showers. I never opened gifts so late before. I think I was more anxious then the kids. Yes even in their 20's they are still "the kids". We finally opened everything Santa had brought and everyone was very happy. Steve bought me (for the family) a Zoo pass. Our zoo is considered the highest in the World. Over the holidays they decorate big time and our open at night for a special price. To my surprise everyone decided to go that night. They were open. So we got going on dinner and cleaned up very quickly and were on our way by 6:30. We all bundled up and took off. It was a beautiful cold and clear evening. To my surprise the animals were quite active. We were told that they actually heat some of the rocks and areas for them so they are more comfortable. Everyone had a great time, lots of laughs. At the end of the this I will post pictures for you to enjoy.

On Fri. the kids went ice skating, and I slept. I am still fighting mono. So I tried to rest when I could. On Sat. they took off for Orange County. The next week we relaxed. Steve had two weeks off. His birthday was Dec. 29, so that morning I woke him early and surprised him with a trip to Breckenridge. We drove up the I-70 and on the way saw a herd of Bison, and later two long horn sheep on the side of the mountain. We did some birthday shopping at the Outlets in Silverthorn, then drove on into Breckenridge. The scenery was beautiful... I will include some pictures from our drive up and home. We had lunch at Bubba Gumps, a favorite place and then walked around town. We watched some skiers then headed home through the mountain passes. On the way home saw 2 separate herds of Antelopes. To bad by that time it was pretty dark and we were traveling rather fast so I missed some good photo opportunities. On News Year Eve we went to our friends the Harrells. Kathy had a nice dinner for us and the guys BBQ'd outside (about 20 degrees). We learned to plays Hearts and enjoyed good conversation. At midnight we went out front and got to see the fireworks from the top of Pikes Peak. It is called a fourteener. Being it was such a clear night we could see them very clearly. A lot of years it is too cloudy at the top of the peak to see them. We got home around 1:30 and collapsed. New Years day was very laid back, eating leftovers and watching Football. Elisabeth and family came up on Fri. the 2nd. Matthew has changed so much in the four weeks since I last saw him. He is well over 11lbs. now. He smiles a lot and likes to giggle. Cameron has grown a lot also. He is now playing basketball. We had a nice time with them and had Christmas with them. It started to snow again of course on Sunday when they were heading home. They had to leave earlier then planned. Thankfully they got home safely. So that was our holiday. Now it's back to life and a new year of possibilities. May this new year fill you with hope and a desire to reach out to family and friends and deepen those precious relationships. May the Lord bless you and keep you....

Blessings,
Louise
