HE Did IT!!

Yes, family and friends, Eric took his GED and is now a High School graduate. Needless to say we are very happy and celebrated with dinner at one of our favorite Seafood places Joe's Crab Shack. Being in Colo Spgs. the seafood choices aren't to great but this is a good one.
We are also very proud that not only did he pass but he scored in the top 10 percent of all graduating seniors nationwide. What a wonderful accomplishment. Way to go Eric. We love you!!

Welcome to early Spring

It’s been a great two weeks. I feel like I am finally getting over the mono. Still get a little tired, but overall doing well. Sunday a week ago, Rebekah’s boyfriend Rick came down for the day. We went to church (9 AM), then early lunch at Wendys then off to the Cheyenne Mnt. Zoo, our new favorite place to go. It was a lovely day and we had a great time seeing the animals who were fairly active and some wild (not part of the Zoo) animals that seemed to like seeing the other animals: like mule deer’s, my favorite and wild turkeys. The turkeys really seemed to like the Moose as that’s where we saw the majority of them.

After a couple of hours we left Rick and Rebekah and headed home. I put a turkey breast on to cook and took a rest, then had a nice dinner with the family. Of course after dinner we had to go watch Amazing Race, one of our favorite shows.

We woke up to some really cold weather and the trees were covered with ice. It was also very foggy. By mid-afternoon, it all cleared away and was a nice day. Since then we have had very warm weather for this time of the year. It has been a very mild winter. My bulbs are all starting to come up. March is usually the snowiest time of the year but it is starting like a lamb rather then roaring in like the lion. Sorry East coast. Hopefully I won’t lose all the pretty flowers. We just put them in last fall, so they are small looking, but should be very pretty.
This past week has been nice. On wed. I had two friends over for movie day. We watched Nights in Rodanthe. What a great movie. The girls loved it and it was a two tissue day. We then finished with a Chinese lunch I cooked. It was a fun day. In two weeks we will go to one of their houses and watch August Rush, another great movie.

This past Sat. Steve and I discovered a new (11/2yr old) state park down by the base where he teaches. We took a mile and a half hike. Saw some mule deer’s, and birds. No real wild animals like bears, still sleeping, bobcats, that had been sighted on this trail two days before or mnt. loins. It was a great park. We definitely want to go again. They have 20 miles of trails, and it is at the base of Cheyenne Mnt. where the air force space command is. It is built inside the mountain. You use to be able to visit it but not anymore. During Sept. 11th, Mrs. Bush was brought there. Her plane was the only plane allowed to land in Colo. Spgs. that day. In the back of some of the pictures you can see the Mnt. Overall it was a good weekend.

On Sat. Elisabeth will celebrate her 30th birthday. Congratulations and Happy Birthday dear girl. Her boys are doing great.
Matthew got two new teeth on the bottom. Hopefully he will start feeling better now.
