I can't believe Christmas is less then a week away. I spent the last couple of days finishing up the shopping. Our trees our decorated and Steve even decorated the outside. It looks very nice, especially with the snow on the ground. Of course they are now saying we will have 50 degree weather on Christmas. In never fails. On Sunday we are picking Jen and a friend up from the airport and it is suppose to be about 3 below zero.
Steve has started his Christmas vacation. He will have two weeks off. Last Sat. we went to his Christmas party. It was really nice to meet the teachers he has spoken about for the last several months. He can't believe he is half way done with his first year teaching here.

Not much else new. Just keeping busy and resting in between the baking. I promised some updated pictures so I am going to include pictures from when my mom came to visit and meet her new great-grandson Matthew. Take care and have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.

I can't believe I haven't posted since Oct. So much for "Day to Day". I was waiting to post pictures. November went by to quickly. I was busy with Ladies Bible study. I had a good group this year. We completed a Beth Moore study on The Psalms of Ascent. It was very good. In early Nov. my mom came out for a visit. It was a wonderfultime. Steve had a day off due to Veterans Day. He took us on a drive up to the Mt's. and lunch at a down home bbq. place. There was snow on the top of the peak. She also enjoyed seeing her new great grandson Matthew named after her Grandfather. On the Fri. she was here we took her to the Gaither Homecoming Concert. It was very good. Mom really enjoyed it. When we got out of the concert at 10:30 it was about 20 degrees. Very cold!! No snow though. We had a little luncheon for Elisabeth while she was here also. It was very nice. Mom got to meet a couple of my friends.
For Thanksgiving we had Jen fly in on the Tues night before, and Steve's parents Hal and Evelyn and sister Janice flew in on Wed. morning. Elisabeth and family came Wed. night. It was a wonderful weekend and everyone got along wonderfully. We had quite a snowfall on Thurs. and several of us took a walk that evening with the dogs. Sat. morning the ladies went to Bfk. at Cracker Barrel and the Guys to The Waffle House. Then the Wright took off, and Jen left that night. It was very good timing as on Sun. we woke to a major snow storm.
Now we are into December. I am still fighting the effects of mono, and trying to rest but it is hard when you want to do so much. Steve is looking forward to two weeks off in another week. No special plans.
I just finished the book "The Shack" by William P. Young. It was fascinating. I do recommend it as a good read. I read it with a friend and it prompted some really good discussion questions. Well that is the latest with us. I will try to update again soon.
